Importance: Baidyanath Chyawanprash is a powerful combination of over 51 herbs and plant extract in a base of amla pulp. Chyawanprash is derived from a 2500 year old ayurvedic formula, the first historical documented formula of which is found in the Charak Samhita, the ancient ayurvedic text written by the Sage Charak in 4th century BC. The word “CHYAWANPRASH” is composed of two words CHYAWAN and PRASH. The former stands for the name of a sage, Maharshi Chyawan. The word also denotes ‘degenerative changes’.
